I don’t know when my birthday is. That’s not the weirdest thing about me.
I don’t know what my actual name is either. That’s also not the weirdest thing about me.
We move around a lot, and each time we hit a new town, each time I go to a new school, Mom lets me pick a new name. Anything I want. We made a game of it. A new town, a new life.
Also, my mom looks the same now as she did seventeen years ago in a picture I found of her, pregnant with me. But this is also not the weirdest thing in my life.
The weirdest thing about me? Sometimes I’m invisible.
No, seriously. It happens all the time, people legit don’t see me. On the plus side, I never get called on in class, and I’ve done my share of movie theater hopping without getting busted. But I can’t tell you how many times I’ve almost been hit by a car, even if I wave to make sure they know I’m there before I cross. Nobody ever notices me.
So you can understand how strange it was to find myself being hunted by demons.

It turns out my whole life is a lie. Who I am, where I’m from, more importantly – what I am.
There’s a reason why Mom looks the same as she did seventeen years ago. There’s a reason why we move from place to place at the drop of a hat, never making friends or connections. Apparently, I’ve been in hiding my whole life, and I never knew it.
Lucifer, the Prince of Darkness himself, has been chasing after me because he wants to breed a new race of man with me, thanks to my angelic heritage. Ick. Even if the guy is brutally hot, just… no.
On the plus side, I have a lot of angels looking out for me, including my own guardian angel who’s sexy enough to make me want to beg for twenty-four-hour protection. Only he’s sworn me to absolute secrecy, no one can know he’s revealed himself to me or he risks being cast out of Heaven.
And then there’s Michael. I’ve been crushing on him for years, even if he only ever comes to me in dreams. I never expected to walk into my new school and find him teaching my English class. It turns out he’s real too and he’s ready to protect me at any cost – even if it hurts us both.
It’s easy to be an idiot for love, and boy, am I an idiot sometimes.

In other news… I’m about 64K through The Company of Darkness and things are starting to kick into high gear! I’ll be revealing the cover in the next couple of days.

We went back and forth on this one, trying to decide if we should try a sexy guy on the cover or not. In the end, we decided to go with the same model who’s on the Angel of Mercy cover instead since the story centers around Mercy more than any of the men in her life. What do you think?

Editing is going very well. I’m going to tentatively guess we’re looking at around November 9th for when this one is ready to go.

Mercy for the Fallen is chugging along through the editing process, and it’s time to start looking at cover ideas. This got us to thinking about a redesign for Angel of Mercy, something we’ve been toying with for a long time. This is what James came up with. What do you guys think?

The Fallen books 1-3 are now available as a boxed set for your kindle. I’ve never done a boxed set before, but it looks awful spiffy doesn’t it? (thanks James for the lovely pic, as usual!) In other news, I’m already deep in planning for my next book which I hope to begin in early March. It’s a stand alone novel about a demon hunter and his too-curious-for-her-own-good neighbor. It’s got sexy demons, magic, missing girls, a brooding hero with a dark secret, intrigue, body switching, mythology, tattoos, cheese whiz, you name it. I’m thinking of calling it In Darkness Bound or Let Darkness Bind Them.

Hey, everybody. Sorry I’ve been radio silent for so long, life has been getting away from me lately. In addition to the craziness at work, we’re going through a remodel at home and it’s been a little crazy here too. Luckily, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Between holidays and PTO, I have only eleven days left of work! Eleven!!! By the end of the year we’ll have our house back to ourselves with much anticipated improvements and I’ll be writing full-time! I can’t tell you how excited I am to be able to focus on my writing and family! I might even try to remember what some of my other hobbies are again.

I’ve been taking my down time from writing and putting it to good use by going back to re-edit my Mercy books for grammar and continuity with everything I’ve learned from my editing team. I’m thinking of putting together a boxed set of them next year, maybe with some character interviews and deleted scenes I’ve posted here before.

I can’t tell you how much I’m looking forward to getting back to Anja and Bishop for the next book in my Forged Bloodlines vampire series! I already have most of the book plotted out in my head, but I love the process of nailing down the outline and fleshing it out from start to finish. If you think Anja got into trouble in her home town, wait until she goes abroad after Bishop!
