From Bestselling Paranormal Romance Author Lisa Olsen

After werewolves attack her family, Amelia Singer escapes to Cutter’s Folly in search of her long lost grandmother. There she finds the strangest revelation yet – not only is she descended from a long line of shapeshifters, Amelia’s firstborn is destined to lead the pack to dominion over all others. Now power hungry shifters everywhere will stop at nothing to share in that prophecy. Choosing a mate is the only way to end the violence, but how can she be expected to choose a man she’s known for less than a week? At the heart of this struggle, Amelia is torn between Chase, who makes her pulse race with a single sultry glance, and Cutter, a reclusive but tempting loner with secrets of his own. Can fiercely independent Amelia find happiness with the pack, or will she rebel under the pressure and take her chances on her own?

Chase dropped to the ground on her right, landing light as a cat before straightening to his full height and stepping close. “You’re not so good at listening, let’s see how good you are with your mouth,” he smirked. Closing the distance between them, he leaned down to kiss her, giving her no opportunity to pull away.
Millie opened her mouth to retort, her reply cut off to little more than a squeak as his mouth closed over hers. Who the hell did he think he was? A wolf… a little voice deep inside reminded as she tasted his hunger. Awareness flushed through her body as Chase pressed her against the length of him, trapping her body between his and the tree. Everything about him was hard and unyielding, but he didn’t punish her with his strength, he merely kept her from escaping while he explored the dark secrets of her mouth at his leisure. Amelia’s initial hesitation quickly disappeared, the blood singing in her veins as her arousal spread like wildfire wherever their bodies touched.
Still, a smidgen of self control remained and Millie shoved at his chest, desperate to create a little space between them. Chase barely gave an inch, blazing a trail of kisses along the curve of her jaw toward the smooth column of her throat.
“What are you doing?” she demanded, even as her fingers slid up to curl around the collar of his shirt, pulling him closer.
“Showing you how dangerous the night can be.”
His kiss was everything wild and dangerous about the night as promised, and a secret part of herself she didn’t even know existed responded to the predator who took what he wanted, instead of asking permission as society dictated. No thought for consequences or the future, Chase operated on a purely sensual level. She could feel it in the way the energy thrummed from his body to hers. It made her forget the party in full swing just a few feet away, forget her objections to being manhandled altogether. Somewhere in the back of her mind that bothered her in a big way, and a flare of panic went through her as he touched bare skin.
“Wait…” she panted, breaking the kiss and drawing in a ragged breath.
“Relax.” Chase made no move to let her go, lips brushing over the sensitive spot where neck met shoulder.
“We should get back to the party.”
“I warned you not to stray into the dark woods unprotected.” His teeth scraped lightly over her flesh in a love bite, and Millie hoped it wouldn’t leave a mark. That was the last thing she wanted to explain to Gran.
“You were the one who was supposed to protect me, remember?”
“I am protecting you,” he insisted.
“How, by mauling me out in the woods yourself?” Millie demanded, pulling her head away to try and catch his gaze.
“I am keeping you safe by making you mine,” Chase replied as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.
“Who says I’m yours?”
That brought him up short. “Is there someone else?”
“Well, no, but…”
“Then what’s the problem?” His sexy grin reappeared.
“The problem is, I just met you yesterday, Chase. I don’t work that fast.”
“You can’t fight your destiny, Amelie. You know we belong together.”
“Don’t call me that,” she snapped irritably. Chase seemed unperturbed, stroking his fingers down the bare skin of her back, making her shiver with delight. It took Amelia a long moment to focus her thoughts again before she could reply. “Just because you’re a good kisser, doesn’t make you my destiny. Besides, what about Leah?”
“What about her?” He stared back blankly.
“Aren’t you and she…?”
Chase gave an inelegant snort. “That was never anything serious.”
“Does she know that? Because if looks could kill…”
“She knew exactly what she was getting into.”
Millie turned that over in her head for a moment, trying to decide exactly what he meant by that. “Look…” She stole a deep, calming breath. “I like you Chase. I’d like to get to know you better, but I don’t belong to anyone but myself. That’s about all I’m offering right now. If that’s not enough…” She shook her head.
Chase stared back at her for a long moment, and then the tension went out of his body and he found his smile again. “Alright, that’ll have to be enough for now. I’m a patient man, Millie – up to a certain point,” he replied, tilting her chin up and placing an almost chaste kiss to her lips. “So, if you’re not going to let me steal your virtue out here, let’s get back to the party. And no more wandering off, you understand?”
“Okay, okay,” she grumbled, trusting the darkness to hide her eye roll. “I read you loud and clear.” She accepted his hand for the walk back to the party.
“Good, I’d hate to have to give you another lesson.”

I am a writer, wife, and mother of two currently living in the Pacific Northwest. I am a complete TV addict (have to have it on at all times, even when I’m writing).
The supernatural has long been my favorite to write and read. Werewolves, vampires, witchcraft, ghosts, things that go bump in the night; these are a few of my favorite things to write about.

I feel like I’m in the home stretch for getting Kiss Me When the Sun Goes Down to you guys, and I hope to have it out in the next couple of weeks. I’ll have the cover reveal here shortly as well as some teasers too.

After that, I’ll be taking a break from writing for a few weeks to attend to some business stuff I’ve been putting off for far too long. We’ll be redoing a couple of the covers and changing up some of the blurbs. I’ll also be reworking Moonsong, tightening up the beginning, and putting back in some of the racier bits I initially cut out in preparation for working on the sequel – Scarlett’s story.

The rest of the chapters (14-24) for Always Talk to Strangers on Episode for Android devices has finally been released too, so head over to check those out if you’ve been following along the story. I’m also working on adapting Wake Me When the Sun Goes Down for Episode, and that should be released any time now.

What the heck is StoryBundle? I admit, I had no idea before I was approached to be a part of this paranormal bundle, but it’s a cool idea. You set the price you think the books are worth, you set the amount you think the authors deserve (yep, if you want to give the authors 100% of the royalties, you can!), you can even designate some of your purchase price to go to charity if you like! This is a great way to support indie authors and try some new books at a great price.

The basic bundle includes (minimum $3 to purchase):

•	Hidden Salem by Kiki Howell
•	Seven Years by Dannika Dark
•	The Company of Shadows by Lisa Olsen
•	Genesis by Kristie Cook

If you pony up at least $10, you’ll get another three books:

•	Broken: A Paranormal Romance by David H. Burton
•	Sterling by Dannika Dark
•	Moonsong by Lisa Olsen

The bundle is available for a very limited time only, via http://www.storybundle.com/romance. It allows easy reading on computers, smartphones, and tablets as well as Kindle and other ereaders via file transfer, email, and other methods. You get multiple DRM-free formats (.epub, and .mobi) for all books, but after the three weeks are over, the over, the bundle is gone forever!

Here’s a summary from StoryBundle on why their bundles rock, but you can get more info by going to the website directly:
Why StoryBundle? Here are just a few benefits StoryBundle provides.

•	Get quality reads: We’ve chosen works from excellent authors to bundle together in one convenient package.
•	Pay what you want (minimum $3): You decide how much four fantastic books are worth to you. If you can only spare a little, that’s fine! You’ll still get access to four thrilling titles.
•	Support authors who support DRM-free books: StoryBundle is a platform for authors to get exposure for their works, both for the titles featured in the bundle and for the rest of their catalog. Supporting authors who let you read their books on any device you want—restriction free—will show everyone there’s nothing wrong with ditching DRM.
•	Give to worthy causes: Bundle buyers have a chance to donate a portion of their proceeds to charity. We’re currently featuring Mighty Writers and Girls Write Now.
•	Receive extra books: If you beat our bonus price, you’re not just getting four books, you’re getting seven!

StoryBundle was created to give a platform for independent authors to showcase their work, and a source of quality titles for thirsty readers.

Thanks to everyone who helped vote on the cover choice, it came out sooooooo pretty!

Here is a little sample to whet your appetite:

Amelia has just come to live with her Grandmother and cousins, Scarlett and Chase after finding out her family is descended from a long line of werewolves (or shifters, as they like to call it). She’s looking for some answers on the upcoming gathering she’ll be expected to attend that night.

“Chase?” Amelia stepped out into the back yard, not quite sure how to find him.

“Did you have a nice time shopping?”

It took her a moment to find the source of the voice, but she finally located him around the corner, leaning against the side of the house. There was a swimming pool set into a natural rock formation she’d missed on her first look at the grounds that morning. “Apparently I needed a party dress, so…”

“You bought a party dress?” he started laughing, nearly losing his balance as he fought to catch his breath.

“What’s so funny about me buying a party dress?” she frowned; not liking being the butt of whatever joke tickled him so much.

“Nothing… it’s just ah… you’ll be a little overdressed,” he straightened, still chuckling.

“What do you mean overdressed? I thought there was a party going on tonight?”

“There’s a gathering, not exactly your chips and dip kind of affair. It’s a little more… au naturale if you catch my drift,” he gave her a pointed look.

“You mean…”

“It’s not like wolves wear a lot of clothing. Unless you count a wolf in sheep’s clothing, but then again wool gets kind of scratchy,” he pretended to consider.

“Are you seriously telling me this will be a ‘clothing optional’ get together?” Amelia’s voice rose an octave. That was so not happening… There was no way she was going to strip down and be presented to the pack like a piece of meat.

Chase stared at her gravely before his smile broke through again. “It’s just so easy…”

Realization dawned on her; he was pulling her leg! “You bastard! It’s all bullshit!” She smacked him across the abs in indignation, cheeks growing hot with embarrassment over how gullible she’d been. “And to think I was actually coming out here to get some straight answers out of you!” She turned on her heel and started back to the house with long angry strides.

“Wait, wait, wait…” It took mere seconds for him to catch hold of her arm and insinuating himself between her and the house. “I’m sorry, I couldn’t resist.” The amusement remained in his face but there was a contrite note to his voice.

“Next time try,” Amelia grumbled.

“You’re so adorable when you get all flustered like that.” His voice dropped, low and intimate, as he stroked the side of her face with the back of his hand. “Red is definitely your color.”

“I’m glad you find me amusing,” she muttered, swiping his hand away.

“Hey, I’ll be good, I promise. Ask me anything you want, scout’s honor.” Chase caught up the hand that swatted him away and pressed a kiss to the base of her thumb.

The intimate gesture caught her off guard, and she lost track of what she was going to say next, tongue darting out to moisten her lips. “You were a boy scout?” slipped out, not what she’d intended to ask at all.

“Well… no, but you catch my drift,” he grinned back at her, thumb tracing little circles over the back of her hand.

Amelia found it oddly disconcerting, he wasn’t acting much like a cousin… well there was such a thing as kissing cousins wasn’t there? That thought was quickly shoved away. “So, what will happen tonight?”

“No secret pagan rites, no dancing naked under the pale moonlight if that’s what you’re worried about.”

“Oh… good,” Amelia breathed a little easier.

“You’re not allowed to come to those.”

“Beg your pardon?” she squeaked. Was he teasing her again?

“Oh we have ‘em right enough, but not just anybody can attend. You my sweet… you would definitely not be allowed to come, you’d prove much too much of a distraction,” his smile turned predatory again.

Amelia felt that smile right down to her toes. Had he edged closer to her than he’d been a moment ago? She took a half step backwards, needing that space between them to keep her wits about her. “What happens at those gatherings?”

“Oh no… I can’t tell you, we have our secrets after all.” He took a step closer to her, closing the distance between them almost as soon as she opened it up.

“Now you’ve got me curious… I might have to try and sneak a peek at your secret gatherings sometime,” Amelia teased, and the smile dissolved from Chase’s face.

“You have to promise me never to go into the woods at night, Millie.”

“Oh, stop being melodramatic,” she tried to pull her hand away but he held it fast.

“There are dangerous things in the woods, things that wouldn’t hesitate to gobble up a tasty morsel like you. Promise me, Millie, you will never venture into the woods at night without my protection,” he insisted, his voice grim.

Millie stared up at him, not sure whether to take his warning at face value or if he was messing with her again. “Alright, I promise,” she agreed. It wasn’t like she made a habit of wandering through the woods at night anyway.

“Good.” Loosening his hold on her hand again, he brought it up to his lips and kissed her fingertips.

Snatching her hand away, she took another step backwards again. “Um, about tonight…”

Chase let out a long, drawn out sigh. “You’re not going to let this go are you? It’s nothing sinister, I promise. Pretty much we’ll all gather in a clearing, you’ll sit up by Gran so everyone can get a good look at you. Gran will make a flowery speech about fate and the future of the pack, and then there will be food. If we’re lucky, not too many toasts and then probably some dancing, I swear. No virgin sacrifices,” he grinned.

“Oh, I’m not worried about that, I’m not a virgin,” Amelia replied glibly.

“Don’t let Adele hear you say that, she’ll make you go through a purification ritual. I don’t recommend it,” he wrinkled his nose with distaste and she laughed.

“She can’t possibly think I’m still a virgin, I’m almost twenty-two years old!”

“I’m just saying… I wouldn’t volunteer that little tidbit,” he shrugged. “But seeing as how you’re not saving yourself…” he took another step closer to her until she was backed up against the side of the house.

Her hand came up to rest against his chest again, pushing back firmly, for all the good it seemed to do her; he was solid as an oak and just as immovable. “Last time I checked this wasn’t Alabama…”

“Huh?” his head cocked to one side in confusion.

“Cousins? This sort of contact leads to offspring with webbed toes and low IQ’s,” she arched a delicate brow at him.

“Oh right…” he nodded, “Is that the only objection you have towards that sort of… contact?” Fingers rose to tuck an errant wisp of dark hair back, caressing the curve of her ear in the process.

A shiver of delight passed through her at the touch, but Millie tried her hardest not to let it show on her face. “It’s a pretty big objection,” she managed to get out fairly evenly, but she couldn’t help but notice the feel of his chest beneath her hand, the heat seemed to seep right out of his clothes and envelop her.

“Still, if I wasn’t your cousin?” he pressed, and her lips curved into a mischievous smile.

“Too bad we won’t ever find out.”

“Too bad,” Chase sighed dramatically, leaning in close, his lips brushing the outer whorl of her ear. “You know… I’m not actually your cousin,” he breathed, drawing back to catch the widening of her eyes with a smile of pure pleasure. “Adele adopted us when our parents died. See you tonight.” With a slow wink he pressed another kiss to the center of her palm and released her, heading back into the house without a backwards glance.

May rang in with a bang with an unexpected boost to sales (for no reason that I can figure), The Avengers opens this Friday, it’s time for a new monthly resolution, and I’ve started my new book Nine Steps to Sara! Whew, that’s a lot for one update!

First of all, can I just say again – The Avengers opens this Friday!!!

Okay, I’m better now.

For the month of May, I’m proud to report I still haven’t cheated on any of the previous month’s resolutions. If you remember, I’ve given up fried food, fast food, baked desserts and started exercising 5 days per week. So what to give up next? Well, sadly, I’m not seeing a whole lot of movement on the scale yet, and I know why. There are still waaay too many delicious things out there for me to eat too much of! So, for May, my resolution is to start tracking what I eat again in an online food diary. I’ve done it before with great results, but I was reluctant to get back to it because it’s so tedious! But, I know it’s good for me, so as of yesterday, I’m tracking every single thing that goes into my mouth, including the sugarless gum (which is still 4 calories per stick, ).

Nine Steps to Sara is coming along well, beginnings are always hard for me on the first pass, but hopefully I can find the right creepy/entertaining vibe I’m going for.

Let me think… what else is going on… Moonsong is doing very well so far, and I’ve been very happy with the reviews I’ve received. Now if I can just get it formatted for paperback so I can add it to my shelf…

That’s about it for me, guys. Oh, but have I mentioned, The Avengers is opening this Friday?

It’s that time again to give me your thoughts and feedback on the cover art for my new book, Moonsong. Anyone who comments on the covers on the website will be automatically entered for a chance to win a copy of one of my books (your choice of books).

I know the difference is subtle, and please remember this will be mostly seen against a white background on Amazon.com, since that is where I sell the most. I’d also love to hear constructive criticism and ideas for how to improve them if you have any suggestions. Please keep in mind that they have to be not only eye-catching, but easy to identify when much smaller in ads and for sale on websites.

Here is a little blurb of what the book is about:

After werewolves attack her family, Amelia Singer escapes to Cutter’s Folly in search of her long lost Grandmother. There she finds the strangest revelation yet; not only is she descended from a long line of shapeshifters; Amelia’s firstborn is destined to lead the pack to dominion over all others.
